Update:

I gave birth to my daughter on March 13th, 2008. I gave birth unassisted on the floor next to the same bed where my pregnancy photos were taken.

You can read my birth story here:

It's coming!

My filters are still on the way. I hope they get here soon. I'm biting my nails waiting for them to get here. I'll be back in black (and white) then. In the meantime, how in the F&$@% do you focus manually using a digital camera? I learned on a vintage where the circles line up and you know your picture is focused. No circles on my camera. I've scoured the manual. You just have to snap the photo and hope you got somewhere close. You can set it to auto focus, but it still comes out blurry and takes longer to focus than I do, plus it comes out so dark and grainy. Maybe my camera is just messed up. It's used, after all. I took a bunch of shots today and not a single one of them was in focus. So...how do you do it?

I'm back!

And after over a year - I'm finally back! I don't have anything to add just yet. My poor camera died in the salty sea air just after moving to Hawaii from Texas.  You can imagine how I must be DYING to take more photos, but I've been poor. Not to worry, though. I'm selling the truck and getting a Samsung Pro 815. Yessss...I've had my eye on this baby for several months. Yeah, I know everyone wants the new Canon. The truth is, I've tried out almost all of the new ones and I have to say, I like the Pro 815 the best. The viewfinder and screen on all the others are just too small. I can't even tell that I'm focusing properly because the image is so tiny. Sorry guys, but the new DSLR cameras are CRAP for manual focus. In fact, my only beef about the pro 815 is that the image in the viewfinder is video. Blah! I'd much rather see what I'm photograhing in real time but it's the best camera that I've seen out there!

I've been leaning further towards photography lately. I'm really enjoying what I can do with it and I've always loved looking at black and white photos. My grandfather and my father both do photography as a hobby, so I think I picked it up from there. My husband takes some great photos, too. I'm trying to help him with it and show him how composition works.
